The color green !

My daughter is home for spring break.

Since I was gone for a while, ( I went to India for more than a month ) I had not really talked to her due to the time difference and all that.

She asked me what have I been up to these days since coming back.

I said, not much, I am just disgusted by the current state of affairs.

She said, have you written anything lately? I know writing makes you happy.

So, I looked through my bag of  "my writing stuff" and found this "March writing prompts". I had probably gathered it from somewhere last year and forgotten all about it.

The first prompt was "the color green" .

Magic happens when I hear the word GREEN, not just when I see it, when I wear it.

Here is what I wrote about my favorite color in the whole world. 💚

Sharing the March writing prompts, feel free to use.

My favorite color is Green, it always was and will be, the color of nature.

I grew up surrounded by a lot of greenery.

No matter in which direction one looked, which window, there was the color green, in abundance.

There, which was in India, the parts where I grew up, the weather stayed the same , year long, so there was no change.

Now, everything has changed, the weather, the scene. Where once used to be only greenery, one can only see buildings and they are lucky to see a blue sky every now and then....

Nonetheless,

The color Green is what brings me solace.💚

This, the color "Green" makes me smile. In fact, I am smiling right now looking at it.

I don't know what came first, the color that brought happiness or I started wearing it to make me happy.

Doesn't matter.

Green is what makes me smile, the greenery, the trees, the nature is what makes me smile. 💚☘️

The sign even says "Love Green"💚 🙏💚

What about you? Do you have favorite color? What makes you smile?

Happy Monday friends.

Me and my ramblings !!

Some of my green possessions.

So when this GREEN LOVE sign shows up, must get a picture.

I grew up looking at this view , every day.

                                                                  I love Green.

My self care journey - Oxygen mask.

“ In the event of a sudden drop in pressure, an oxygen mask will drop from above. Secure your own mask first before assisting others. ” The first time I heard this, I was flying for the first time in my life on an international flight from Mumbai to Atlanta via London. I was so excited to go to America on my own that I did not really pay that much attention to this routine preflight announcement. Since I had flown to America, it also meant flying back, again, several times to go home. I heard the same announcement during all those trips but at that point, they were still some words, their true meaning still had not registered.  Then came another first time of my life, this time it was flying with my first born, for the first time.  By this time, I was not as excited about flying, the novelty had completely worn off. Now I am only concerned about the safety of my baby, he is sitting in my lap, one year old. Then they make the above preflight announcement, in sever...

Journey as a mom driver.

Several years ago, when my parents were visiting, I took them to church for Easter Sunday mass. It was the first time I had driven since becoming a mother… for the second time around. This time, I had “twins.” They were less than two months old. I hadn’t driven in several months. I thought I could use the break from taking care of them. The church was not too far, I would be gone for at the most an hour and a half. Little did I know that it would be a defining moment in my journey as a mother. While at church, I just could not focus, they were at home with their father, they were safe, but that was the first time I had left them at home and gone somewhere. We ended up leaving before the final hymn. I was in a hurry to get home, only a few minutes from home. Sleep-deprived and anxious, I ran a red light. That split-second decision cost me more than I can explain. By the time a police officer got there  and approached the car, I had had a complete meltdown, bawling at the s...

My Little Patch of Happiness.

As I sit here and look out my window, I see my little patch of happiness . The gladioli in my little patch of garden are blooming once again. They are my pride, my joy, and my happiness. As I admire their colorful blooms , I can't help but reflect on our journey together. There is an interesting story behind these flowers. I planted these gladioli bulbs during the pandemic, in 2020. In the beginning, it seemed as though everyone around me had discovered a new hobby. People were baking bread, gardening, knitting, painting, and learning new skills. I, however, wasn't particularly interested in any of those things. To be honest, I don't have much of a green thumb. In the past, I had planted a few things, only to watch them slowly wither away. So, this time, I wasn't expecting much. I found these bulbs on sale at a local home and garden store and decided to plant them as an experiment, almost as a challenge to myself. I planted them in mid-April and then completely forgot a...
