Fall- the most beautiful season!

Fall is in the air, almost to its tail end in our parts of Virginia.

I love fall, the colors, the mounds of fallen leaves, the shadow of the sun, the cold but still not so cold, bone chilling weather.

If I hadn’t come to the US, I probably would never know what “fall”, the “season” is really like, probably would have lived in Mumbai or Delhi.

If Mumbai, it would be green 24 x7, no cold weather. Delhi gets cold but don’t really know if they even have enough trees to have a fall season, I have never been there except in December /January.

I see pictures of my friends who live in northern India, in the mountains and the fall looks just as pretty as here. I have always loved fall, lived in the mountains of Tennessee but then was too busy with work, kids and didn’t really get out that much to enjoy it like I do now.

I have been enjoying these long leisurely walks by myself, spend as much time as I want, wandering, taking pictures, nobody to nag or whine, husband accompanies me when he can. I am thankful that he gets up and goes with me at my whim to chase fall colors whether be it a local park or a National Park 3 hours away.

Occasionally, when the children do go with me, they complain that I stop too many times. Hope someday they realize how important it is to cherish the little things in life.

Soon, all the beauty will be gone, there wouldn’t be much left to look at until March when all of it will come back with a vengeance, at least in our state of Virginia and by vengeance I mean pollen, translates into allergy season.

I have said it many time before if only we had the ability to shed everything each year and start anew……but alas! Ramblings is all I can do on this pretty Sunday afternoon !! What about you? Do you like one particular season over another? I would like to hear about it. Please do let me know in comments.

  1. I love rainy season here, just the magic of water falling from nowhere and changing the entire surrounding, making it soft. The sea is beautiful in rains with many colours. Mumbai is beautiful in rains.
